In 2025, Cunningham Recreation proudly partnered with cities, schools, and parks departments across the country to design and build playgrounds that inspire connection, creativity, and active lifestyles. From the vibrant play structures at Holiday Hills Park in Maryland to the inclusive designs at Carol Fox Park in Texas, each project reflects our commitment to creating spaces where every generation can thrive. Join us as we look back on some of our favorite playgrounds of the year, each one a testament to the power of play and community collaboration.
1. Carol Fox Park - Jersey Village, TX

Jersey Village, Texas, makes a splash with its newest destination playground, a custom ocean-themed play space that brings the magic of the sea to life! With vibrant colors, ocean-inspired surfacing, and custom GameTime equipment, kids can climb, slide, and explore a world beneath the waves.
The star attraction, the Robot Kraken, features bold purple panels, interactive climbing elements, and a deep-sea design that sparks imagination. Younger children can enjoy the whale shark climber, while older adventurers conquer the multi-level tower surrounded by custom wave and bubble panels.

2. Willow Creek Elementary School - Humble, TX

Welcome to the Wonders of the World Playground at Willow Creek Elementary in Humble ISD. A global adventure in play and imagination! Custom-designed by GameTime’s Landmark Design team, this one-of-a-kind playground invites students to explore famous landmarks from around the world through hands-on play experiences.
Students can climb the Pyramids of Egypt on a large net structure, race along the Taj Mahal track ride, and reach new heights on the Eiffel Tower climber. The Colosseum of Rome and the Great Wall of China come to life as multi-level playground structures filled with slides, bridges, climbers, and interactive components that encourage adventure and teamwork.
Colorful poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing adds to the excitement with vibrant graphics, camels, pandas, tigers, and ocean creatures that tie the global theme together. The Wonders of the World Playground blends cultural discovery with active play, inspiring curiosity, creativity, and connection as students discover the wonders of the world without ever leaving the schoolyard.
3. Funland - North Little Rock, AR

Tons of fun at Burns Park in North Little Rock, Arkansas at Funland! A vibrant, inclusive playground where children of all ages can climb, slide, swing, and explore together. Reimagined after the 2023 tornado, this destination features PowerScape-inspired play structures, a SkyRun Zip Track, a Hillside Roller Slide, a Custom Net Tree with Slide, and swings including Double Arch and Inclusive Whirl options.
Additional elements like Tot’s Toddle Rockers, sensory play features, hillside climbing challenges, and a splash pad area provide varied opportunities for active, imaginative, and cooperative play. The playground is completed with poured-in-place rubber and synthetic turf safety surfacing, along with custom shade structures and a steel gable shelter for comfort. Funland at Burns Park creates a safe, engaging, and accessible space where families can connect, play, and enjoy adventure together.
4. Harmony Park- Moncks Corner, SC

There’s something for everyone at Harmony Park in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. An all-inclusive playground where children of all ages and abilities and their families can explore, climb, and play together. The park features GameTime PowerScape modular play structures for ages 2-5 and 5-12, inclusive swings, a SkyRun Zip Track, and a Sensory Wave area, providing a variety of opportunities for active, imaginative, and cooperative play.
Additional elements include a shaded music area, interactive climbing components, and a Tots Courtyard, all set on poured-in-place rubber surfacing for safety and accessibility. Harmony Park is also a PlayCore National Demonstration Site, highlighting its commitment to inclusive, research-backed playground design. Thoughtfully designed, the park creates a vibrant space where families can connect, play, and enjoy an environment built for everyone.
5. Jesse Helmes Park- Wingate, NC

Enjoy a fun farm adventure at Jesse Helms Park in Wingate, North Carolina. A farm-themed playground designed for children of all ages and abilities. The 5-12 age area features a barn and silo-inspired play structure with interactive elements and climbing challenges, while the 2-5 age area includes a smaller barn, tractor climbers, and corn stal
k elements for little adventurers.
Freestanding net structures like the Vista Twist Tower and Vista Arc Sphere, an outdoor musical area, a track ride, and swings, including adaptive seats and the popular GameTime Expression Swing™, offer even more ways to play. Completed with poured-in-place rubber surfacing and playful landscape mounds, Jesse Helms Park encourages exploration, movement, and connection for families in a safe, engaging environment. 6. Holiday Hills Park - Columbia, MD

Traditional play at its finest here at Holiday Hills Park in Columbia, Maryland. A colorful, engaging playground designed for children of all ages. The park features two GameTime play structures, swings, a freestanding net climber, and a small playhouse. The playground is completed with poured-in-place rubber surfacing for safety and accessibility.
The 2-5 play structure includes a sensory transfer station, slides, play panels, various climbers, and integrated shade, while the 5-12 structure offers a Wilder slide, rockscape, climbers, and upper-body challenges for older kids. Families can also enjoy outdoor GT Fit fitness stations, allowing parents to stay active while children play and explore. Thoughtful site furnishings complete this inviting space, making Holiday Hills Park a destination for play, fitness, and community connection.
7. Trey Park - Hartsville, TN

Trey Park in Hartsville, TN, offers an inviting and inclusive play experience for children of all ages and abilities. This colorful playground features GameTime’s PrimeTime Odyssey play structure for ages 2-5, complete with sensory-rich play panels, climbers, and slides that spark creativity and adventure. Older children can find active fun and physical challenges in the large higher tower structure that includes multiple climbers and slides.
With a wide variety of freestanding play elements, little explorers can enjoy spinning on the Inclusive Whirl, scaling the Sensory Dome, or discovering sound and rhythm at the musical instruments. The vibrant poured-in-place safety surfacing colors and shapes bring added play value and aesthetic appeal. Swing options including the GT Expression Swings, adaptive seats, and a classic arch swing ensuring every child can soar in comfort and fun. With playful spring riders, shaded seating, and sensory-focused elements throughout, Trey Park is designed to bring the Hartsville community together through joyful, inclusive play. 8. Clark Park - Champaign, IL

Welcome to Clark Park in Champaign, Illinois. A dynamic, all-abilities playground designed for children of all ages to explore, climb, and play. The park features two GameTime PowerScape play structures, one for ages 2-5 and one for ages 5-12, giving kids of different ages engaging spaces to challenge themselves.
Additional play elements include freestanding swings including the popular GT Expression Swing, SkyRun Zip Track, hillside roller slide, Sensory Wave Seat, Solo Spinner, Tots Courtyard, Bingo’s Playhouse and Deco Spring Rider. The playground is completed with poured-in-place rubber surfacing for safety and accessibility. Thoughtfully arranged, Clark Park encourages imaginative play, physical activity, and family connection in a fun, inclusive environment.
9. Medbrook Children's Charity Inclusive Playground - Bridgeport, WV

The Medbrook Children’s Charity Inclusive Playground at the Bridge Sports Complex in Bridgeport, WV, is a vibrant and fully accessible play destination designed for children of all abilities. See our video of the park here!
This inclusive space features a GameTime fully ramped play structure with integrated shade, allowing every child to explore, climb, and play together. Nearby, the GT Stadium fitness structure offers fun, active challenges for older kids and adults alike, while freestanding play components and the innovative Lappset Sona dance and play arch add interactive, high-energy experiences. With comfortable shade furnishings and colorful poured-in-place surfacing, this playground brings fitness, fun, and inclusion to the heart of the Bridgeport community. 10. All Saints Catholic School - Norman, OK

All Saints Catholic School partnered with Cunningham Recreation to create a fun, inviting outdoor play environment that supports active learning and student well-being. The new playground features a PrimeTime modular play structure designed for a variety of ages and abilities, along with multiple swing options, including traditional belt swings, an arch swing, and a Sensory Wave Seat, to encourage inclusive movement and social play.
Students can enjoy playtime on soft, durable synthetic turf surfacing, while an added concrete curb border provides clean edges and long-term site protection. A 16’ x 16’ steel hip shade shelter offers a cool, comfortable space for rest, supervision, or outdoor lessons. With new site furnishings and coordinated signage, this campus playground blends safety, comfort, and creativity—giving students a vibrant space to play, learn, and grow.
11. Minneola School District - Minneola, KS

Minneola School District in Minneola, KS unveiled an exciting new playground designed to bring active, inclusive, and imaginative play to students of all ages. Anchored by the vibrant Pacific Isle PowerScape play structure, the space offers tons of climbing, sliding, and social play opportunities that keep kids moving. A VistaStar net adds a dynamic challenge for older students, while younger children enjoy creative freestanding elements like the ECHO PreSchool Whimsy and a classic mule spring rider. Multiple swing options—including an Xscape Swing, ADA swing bay, Zero-G seat, and tire swings—provide motion play for everyone.
The upgraded play environment is finished with 7,000 square feet of poured-in-place rubber surfacing, ensuring accessibility and safe landings throughout the space. Additional features like basketball hoops, benches, and a bike rack make the area a true multi-use recreation spot that supports both active play and community use. Thoughtfully designed and installed by Cunningham Recreation, this new playground gives Minneola students a bright, modern, and inclusive place to learn, grow, and play every day.
12. Fairview Park - Decatur, IL
Fairview Park revitalized play environment brings together bold design, active play, and inclusive recreation to create one of Decatur’s most dynamic community destinations. The space now features two GameTime Modern City play structures with sleek climbers, slides, and architectural play elements, along with the soaring VistaTwist Tower that offers a thrilling net-climbing experience for older kids. An inclusive climbing net structure encourages cooperative, full-body play for children of all abilities, while interactive components like the MusicBall add sound, creativity, and sensory engagement.
Expanding beyond traditional playground fun, the park now includes a full GameTime Challenge Course complete with a 40-Yard Dash and timing system, giving families a place to test speed and agility. The entire play space is unified with poured-in-place rubber surfacing, ensuring accessibility, safety, and a polished finish that ties the project together. Fairview Park’s upgrade delivers a modern blend of adventure, inclusivity, and community-focused recreation.
