Acquired in 2015, North County Regional Park has taken years of visioning and stacking funds from a variety of sources in order to make the grand vision a reality. Caroline County Parks and Recreation, utilizing the 2024 GameTime Community Champions Grant, was able to make this long-awaited project happen. The grant allowed them the opportunity to increase their buying power and expand their play and recreation spaces with its matching funds on GameTime play systems and additional funding for fitness.
North County Regional Park is now a Caroline County play and fitness destination park for families to enjoy. This exciting Powerscape play system is designed for children ages 5-12. The play structure features the GT Spire Tower to allow children to channel their sense of adventure as they engage in multi-level climbing and exploration. The play structure also incorporates slides, overhead upper body events, Challenge Canyon Bridge, the TriNet Climber and more.
The play space also includes a GameTime Challenge Course Youth 3000. The Challenge Course is an outdoor obstacle course the whole family can enjoy together. From young children in elementary school to older teens and adults, there is something on the course to keep everybody active and engaged. The North County Regional Park play space is completed with swings including Zero G accessible swing seats for both ages 2-5 and 5-12, and engineered wood fiber (EWF) safety surfacing. Both the play and fitness equipment were designed and installed by Cunningham Recreation.
“Caroline County Recreation and Parks’ vision is to provide area residents and those visiting our community with a variety of opportunities for play, fitness and recreation explains,” Director Jamie Beechey. “This park will provide both passive and active recreation opportunities for the nature enthusiasts and sports and fitness fans alike.”
