Project Overview
Jim Barnett Park in Winchester, Virginia, features a dynamic and inclusive playground designed to encourage exploration, movement, and social connection for children of all abilities. The centerpiece is a large PowerScape modular structure for ages 5–12 that offers a variety of climbing, sliding, and interactive play opportunities.
Unique elements such as custom play components, low and high Vine Climbers, Tot’s Leaf features, and a Duo Spinner provide engaging experiences that support physical development and imaginative play. Additional inclusive features, including a communication board, NDS Inclusive Play signage, and ADA-accessible swings, help ensure children of varying abilities can play together.
A shaded Fontana play area expands opportunities for younger children while creating comfortable gathering spaces for families. Together, these elements create a welcoming community destination focused on inclusive recreation, active play, and meaningful connections.
