Project Overview
Leo Wilson Park in Laurel, Maryland, features a thoughtfully designed inclusive playground that blends active play, sensory engagement, and imaginative exploration. The centerpiece is a PrimeTime modular structure for ages 5–12, supporting climbing, sliding, and dynamic movement for a wide range of abilities.
The playground includes unique discovery and sensory elements such as the Discover Cave, Flower Talk Tubes, and RockScape arch, which encourage exploration, communication, and creative play. Themed components like sculptural flower features add visual interest and support imaginative storytelling throughout the space.
Inclusive design elements such as a communication board and accessible surfacing ensure that children of all abilities can participate fully. With added seating and shaded gathering areas, the park creates a welcoming environment for families to connect, play, and enjoy outdoor recreation together.
